No. 0     Original Topic:  Biblical Christians Are Crucified With Lord Jesus Christ

Galatans 2.20
I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

They that are Chrsit's have crucified the flesh.
Galatians 5.24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Our old man is crucified with Him.

Romans 6.6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Self-ism is, in the last analysis, the very essence of 'sin.' We can see what 'sin' is:

A state: a state of will: a selfish state of will. If you study and ponder this defifnition you will see how truthful it is; and is full of meaning,

The Holy word views sin as the supreme choice of SELF, supreme love of SELF, and supreme service to SELF. It is putting on one's own selfish will...the self-will, in opposition to the HOLY WILL OF GOD and the doing of what self desires instead of what GOD WILLS.

To make our own happiness the ultimate aim of life is in itself sin, in it's primary form.
SIN...is essentially "ego-ism"--putting yourself in God's place; this explains characteristics and manifestations...

Self-sufficiency, instead of faith in God.
Self-will, instead of submission to God.
Self-seeking, instead of honoring God.
Self-righteousness, instead of contrite and humility before God.

Let's give our attention to this matter of; self-crucifixion and letting go of our SELF-WILL and listening to the Spirit of God to accomplish HIS wants and needs of us.

GLORY BE TO GOD!

I like this Verbatim.

My Dad taught 'self' to be the mechanism of sin (although not the literal definition, I saw and can see that it is how sin entered the world through satan [satan's and man's selfish ambitions opposing God's Will).

It's good to ponder upon particularly for the New Year. Thanks for posting this.

Good post!

We are indeed Crucified with Christ.

No Crucifixion, no Resurrection.

This I believe is one reason why you sometimes see people who are demon possessed showing strange physical symptoms, as if their internal spirit-body is being, "crucified" in a sense by the Holy Spirit as they are infused by him and he-it moves into a person. It is sometimes quite a shocking phenomena when witnessing it closeup and firsthand.

Almost as if God is, "burning out" all the darkness as he, "moves in".

As Christians, Christ "dwells" in us IF we have the Holy Spirit residing within us.

3 Jesus said, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." John 3:3-8 KJV
