That is the most idiotic law I have ever heard of.

Businesses need to ban together there and sue the city.

Gas Stations all over the city and Chicago suburbs use bulletproof glass.

I will bet a paycheck liberal democrats who always seem to have mush for brains are behind the law and push.

They are living in a fantasy world if they think armed criminals will simply stop committing armed robberies if they are taken down.

Such a law will only serve to force businesses there to go elsewhere outside the city.

That means you will have no more gas stations, as well as liquor stores.

I can understand them wanting to drive liquor stores out of their community because it is a fact wherever they are they often attract homeless drunks who hang out all hours day and night, as well as begging and or robbing every passerby who comes along.

But that ordinance is not how you drive them out. Such a law punishes all other businesses too such as gas stations.

The way you drive them out is under the "Public Nuisance Act". We have such a law in this State. And many cities have adopted the law making it a city ordinance as well.

Basically, the city has to prove to the court that the business, property, apartment building, etc. is a serious nuisance and detriment to the community.

One such suburb I was working in was able to successfully use the State Ordinance to drive out a Massage Parlor which moved in under false pretenses.

They were performing prostitution services on the side.

It took almost a year to get them out though.

In the meantime we were to drive their customers away as much as possible, write down license plates, hang around the parking lot, etc. It was an outdoor strip mall with many other legitimate businesses in it in a nice upper class area.
