Knowing you are in Florida. Please sign in and let MC know you are okay. I meant to make this thread earlier, since BF first made the post on Hurricane Irma.

I hope you might be on the road (outside of Florida).

I believed she lived on the West coast of FL, which will likely fare somewhat better than the East coast will.

The Hurricane will be pushing the storm surge up towards the beach on the east coast, on the west coast it will be pushing the ocean "away" from the beach.

Winds will not be as severe on the West coast either.

Either way, NO ONE should still be on the coasts when it hits!

I wouldn't be!

Praying for all.

Although they are not on MC, I have several friends that reside in Florida. At this time, none are in an evacuation zone except for those in Homestead.

My current properties in Florida are vacant land, currently used as boating docks. Nothing currently on the properties belong to me. Although I do not desire that others lose their assets.

And at this time, being somewhat in the northern 3rd of Florida, they are not currently in any direct path.

The friend I just helped to move to Florida in July, is a little south of my properties. No evacuation plans for him and the others I know that live near there as of yet. I heard from them last night.

Prayers for everyone in Florida, that those who need to escape are able and willing to do so, that they soon open southbound lanes to northbound traffic and keep fuel trucks moving to help those stranded, that water and food are available to everyone and that all those God moves to help are sensitive and obedient to His promptings in Jesus Name

Sandibeach was suffering from some serious ailments. She would go away for short periods of time, but always returned eventually.

She's been gone for so long I've assumed she isn't able to return, for whatever reason.

And didn't MS have a recurring bout with cancer?

Does anyone here know how he's doing?

I believe Jodi who was here years ago had moved back to the Jacksonville area from Oklahoma last I heard.

I have had no recent communication with friends and family in Homestead or Naples. My assumption is they evacuated.

Have been communicating with friends and family further north in Florida. They have boarded up windows and patio doors opting to stay and ride her out.

They also shared that local stores were out of like batteries, water, etc. 3 days ago.

I have read in survival publications that even our largest store chains, without considerable advance notice, never have more than about 3 days supply of food and water in the supply line. I have also read in such publications and plans, that Amway has some of the largest on-hand inventory of food items in the nation, as well as the most capable delivery and transportation system in the US for moving it. That is if the roadways are navigable.

BF -- I remember Jodi. Hope she is okay.

Survivor --

I tend to keep a bit of a stock on hand (enough to survive a month if needed) myself for this reason. Thanks for sharing this information. I recall power outage during the fires that came close to our homes once and 'ice' (for our refrigerators) was nowhere to found within the first hour of the outage.

Jade -- Yes, Mission created a thread here and his cancer was in remission. Still have not heard from Mission, so please keep him still in prayers.

Vickie --

Amen! (just coming back and reading this thread today). Continued prayers for the clean up and rebuilding and the starting over that will be occurring!
