No. 0     Original Topic: Getting past 'hurt' in life
By:  CAsandie   Gender: F   Age: 103   on  Sep 4, 2017 at 1:28 PM   Viewed 1864 times
In years past on MC, I've been known to share deep aspects of my life (rather transparent) and for today, I want to share what I live with (that some here might be aware of):

As a sole caregiver to my Mom, I know one day I will be the person who will find her lifeless body. Have you ever seen a loved one deceased?

My focus is to be thankful for each day spent with the Lord and those I love. I came to MC during a transition in my life (leaving a job I loved dearly) and I considered purchasing this site (this site has fond memories for me as for the lasting friendships I've made here). Yet, after being gone for a length of time and returning, I find myself at a bit of a loss (quarrels over nothing, 'emotions' out of control and 'obsessions' that I find to offer nothing that resembles 'love.').

Why do I mention Love? Love is the core concept that the Lord has taught us. It is the running theme in the New Testament and through Christian veins.

I have less time to spend online and I wanted to offer something from my heart:

Philippians 4:8 (KJV)

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

This is how we 'heal' emotionally. This is how we get through death, divorces, hardships and all things.

We need to train our brain to focus on what is of the Lord; not ridiculous suspicions, hate, quarrels, insults ... but if there be any 'praise, what is lovely, what is of good report, what is of God.

I am convinced that obsessions in life that are not upon what is 'good' can lead to madness or an inability to 'heal.' Emotions often 'lie' and make a 'mountain' out of a mole hill. Leave these with the Lord to handle and carry on thinking of what is of Him, because time is short on this earth.

Blessings wished upon all reading (and thanks for your time in reading this).

Amazing ... viewed so far ... " 939 " times ...

Even if people are coming back and " re-reading " it ... that's good too.

Jullypop -- I am very honored by your post. Thank you and may you be blessed (I had forgotten I posted this after weeks of no response, so please forgive my delay in appreciation).

Welcome to MC! I hope to see you post again.

RPM -- Thank you as well!
