Looking around Theo currently, I feel the need to emphasize this point (as so many threads are focused upon the flesh and this world and not the Lord and His Greater Almighty and Eternal Glory).

For the man who thinks he/she knows all -- then he/she needs no God or guidance from the Lord and is an island upon him/herself..

John 4:23 But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. 24God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” 25The woman said, “I know that Messiah (called Christ) is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”

26Jesus answered, “I who speak to you am He.” 27Just then, His disciples returned and were astonished that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”

(later in this chapter -- 39Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony,)

31Meanwhile, the disciples urged Him, “Rabbi, eat something.” 32But He told them, “I have food to eat that you know” nothing about. 33So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?”

34Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work. 35Do you not say, ‘There are still four months until the harvest? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest. 36Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.

37For in this case the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. 38I sent you to reap what you have not worked for; others have done the hard work, and now you have taken up their labor.”

And so Jesus healed and showed signs so that all would believe, but these things are of the earth. It is what man is focused upon. It is what man believes.

Galatians 5:17 16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh .... 19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; 20idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, 21and envy; drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Surrender one's desires to the Lord and be reborn in the Spirit. This is the 'clear' message of the NT. Not quarrel, divisions and things that might consume the flesh with concern.

The Lord's Words and Good News is 'true' food for the belly that the Spirit needs to survive and thrive.
