Suffering for Christ. suffering is necessary for salvation. Suffering brings about good in man.

It supposedly brings about good,

However, that dont make me happy none. How is anyone suppose to rejoice in suffering?

I care about today not what it bring me in the future.

Notice how I put what you said in BOLD print ?

When we suffer ... the Lord will bring God's Goodness to us and minister to our hearts ... but that does not mean He will always bring about good in life itself in some way.

I have observed the suffering of people ... and things did not always get better for them in life ... but ... at the same time ... I have observed how the Lord Himself brought them God's peace, comfort, strength, and yes ... even JOY in their hearts ... a joy unspeakable and full of glory ( as the old hymn says ).

Here's another " one liner " ... pretty well sums it up ...

Christ brings us " JOY AND PEACE WITHIN " ... when life stinks.

Hope you did not mind TCG ... the music video ... gives us all a way of gathering at the church house ... to enjoy ... being with Christ and each other. Again, hope you did not mind me adding this to the thread.

That's the beauty of the Lord ... we can have church ... anywhere ... any place ... here ... there ... doesn't matter where it is ... amen ? Amen !

Christ has not brought me joy and peace within. Quite the opposite. Man does not feel comfort which is why many have committed suicide and many have turned away from Christ and became athiest. I months back I watched a video of a christian who turned athiest. ITs hard to see any good that comes from the crap God sends our way. i think alot of people turn to drugs beucase God wasn't their strength and comfort, tjhey turned to drugs to feel good for just a little while because God's comfort was non existant. So was his comfort nonexistant for those who have committed suicide. God's comfort seems to be a rare thing that never last long if it even happens at all.

I pray the others will observe what's going on here in the discussion we are having in this thread between us ( Roxanne and Marvin ).

I truly believe she is being honest and sharing some of what's going on in her life. Yes, life has a way of throwing crap our way, that's for sure. I am only sharing how things are in life ... knowing she is speaking the truth about " how life " can be at times.

I know I have had my share of troubles, and it does make you wonder if God will make life good or better, but again ... He does not promise we will have a " better life " at all. Yes, we have our moments when things work out and we say, " Praise God " !!!

BUT ... we all know there are times when things don't always work out. Life can turn to the worst at times ... things happen we never expected to happen.

It's during these times ... when we can turn to the Lord ... where we begin to understand how we can not always rely on people ... or even rely on ourselves ... nope ! We find we can do nothing about anything.

But here's the Good News ...

We can rely on Christ ... turn it over ... to Him ... saying ...

" Here it is Lord, You can have it. "

The aggravating people that pisses us off ( just speaking plainly here ) and everything else that seems to be turning to crap in our life.

Yes ... we can be completely honest with God about it all.

" Here it is Lord, You can have it. "

Then ... as we wait and put our trust in Him ... He will REVEAL Himself to us ... and bring whatever OUR HEARTS NEED ... like comfort ... peace ... joy ... strength ... and I'm telling ya the truth ....

He is a Wonderful Savior, Lord and Best Friend !

So, as we have this discussion ... right here in this forum ... two people being " HONEST " ... just sharing some of how life can be ... Lord ... I ask for You to do whatever is needed ... as a friend to Roxanne ... please give her a taste of the " joy and peace " that only comes from You.

Thanks again everyone ( for whoever is reading this thread ) ... and thank you Roxanne ... for " opening up " and simply " being honest " with what you are sharing here.

Hypocrites, rebellious, pretenders, are condemned already. God does not comfort those people.

John 3.18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

He comforts those who belong to Him.

Romans 8.28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

I truly believe Roxanne has the desire to be a good " Soldier in Christ. "

She has put up with suffering ... like a good soldier. She probably has gone through things in life we do not know about ... and is none of our business anyway.

She has confessed that she is getting tired of the crap in life itself and ... if she is anything like the rest of us ... getting fed up with people in general too.

Yes, she has had her share of dealing with Christians ... people who may know the Word of God ... but has no idea of how to minister in the Lord's name ... always wanting to fuss and prove they are right ... when we have a lady here ... suffering ... to the point where she may be saying ...

" I have had enough " !!!

I do believe God has His ways ... where we get sick of life itself ... and like Roxanne said ... some people look for an escape from it all ... and ends it all by some way of suicide.

But we have witnesses here ( including me ) that have had these thoughts too ... BUT ... as we TURN to YOU Lord ... at the time God sees fit ... You will come to the rescue ... YES ... YOU will come to us !!!

Please come Lord ... and help Roxanne ... then ... she will know there is a better option ... and His name is Jesus Christ !

I always say ... when we run out of all of our options ... we still have ONE ... ONLY ONE ... option from God ... our dear Lord and Savior ... I call Him my BEST FRIEND ... now and forever !

But rpm you made a mistake. You see it isn't life that throws bad things our way...its God. You know i think about this alot. If our friend or anyone brought bad things to our lives like God does, they would be hated by us yet we are suppose to love God for it? And also rpm it isn't just my life its every man thats why men are out there committing suicide every yr and others turned to drugs just to feel good for a little while. They want their pain to stop. Where is God's strenght comfort and help? We were put here to suffer and I believe our comfort comes through Physical death when suffering will finally be over.

I agree Verbatim ... He comforts those who belong to Him ... but we all need to start somewhere with Him ... turn to Him ... and when we do ... He will be there for them.

I can still remember when I was in church back years ago ( of course, it can happen anywhere ). God was drawing me to Christ !

Talk about a " divine experience " with the Lord !

Ummmmmmmm ! Ummmmmmmmmm ! UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !

Yes ... joy unspeakable and full of glory ... joy and peace WITHIN !

My life did not necessarily change for the better at the time ... but my heart did !

I mean ... He was so wonderful to me ... forgiving ... comforting ... and it simply overwhelmed me at the time. An unconditional love I never had before IN my life. I have never gotten over it ... so much so ... that I want everyone to know ... " YOU ARE WELCOME " ... with Jesus Christ !

We can quote the scriptures and be right in what we are saying, but God is more concerned about " how we minister " in the Lord's name ... knowing what to say and when to say it ... how we act ... and how we come across with it. We learn to speak the Word of God that's needed at the time.

So Verbatim ... let's see if the Lord can bring a certain passage to your mind ... the Word of God that is needed ... at this time. I will be willing to wait ... and see ... if He brings a " Fitting Word " that you can share here in this situation.

Who knows ... maybe ... God will bring the " Fitting Word " from someone else ... I guess we will just have to wait and see how God leads.

I believe God permits certain troubles to come our way ... in order to draw us His way ... to REVEAL Christ to us.

Have you ever had Christ REVEALED to you ? ( if you wish to answer )

Sinners are not capable of coming to Christ on their own...sinners will never choose Christ.
Jesus said...
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

The Elect were chosen before the foundation of the world. There are so many "false conversions" because people are receiving Christ Jesus under false pretense.
Lord Jesus know who are His.

all are called few chosen is going to be all chosen but each in their own order.. Christ was the first to have risen, the rest of us will follow but each in their own order.

No man can come to me except the father which has sent me, draw him. John 6:44

Christ chooses from those his father draw or dragged.
Ye have not chosen me but I have chosen you John 15:16

Eventually this will include all mankind.
And if i be lifted up from the earth [and he was], will draw all men unto me.John 12:32

So all men are going to be saved.

Roxanne ... ( put in BOLD print just to bring the question back again )

Maybe you do not wish to answer this question ... but that's up to you.

The scripture coming to my mind is John 14: 21 ... where Jesus says ...

" ... And I will love him and MANIFEST Myself to him. "

I need to go to town and take care of some things, but I will check back later ... just to see if you wish to answer this question.

You have brought up other views you hold ... and we can look at those later on ... but for now ... I need to go.

Thanks for the " GOOD " discussion ... appreciated it ! :2thumbs:

Sinners reject christ. How many are sinners? EVeryone. Also there is no such thing as everlasting damnation. But if you believe Christ isn't the savior and sends most to an everlasting damnation than you are not a believer and should not call yourself one.
