Where do we dwell? Is it with our minds fastened on the affairs of this life? What he said or she said? The next exciting event to come along? Our minds looking to the future when this will happen or that, pushing passed our issues, current circumstances, just get passed this debt and it will be clear sailing, if only our sickness was healed, if I could get the spouse Iíve desire that I could grow together in the Lord with?

Jesus said where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. What we treasure is what we will think about, our thoughts will be on and desirous to dwell thinking about them. Our minds love to wander in our thoughts revolving around the things we treasure, itís human nature.

Paul said ďoh wretched man that I am, WHO shall deliver me from the body of this death?Ē Itís only through Jesus that we can take control of our minds, but itís not just Jesus, itís us also, FIGHTING the good FIGHT of faith, itís us that have to FIGHT and itís we who have to cast down the thoughts that exalt themselves in our mind and thinking against the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD FLOWING THROUGH OUR MINDS. As Peter stated ďgrace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,Ē. It's through the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD flowing in our minds that we stand in the grace and peace of God, and it's multiplied in us. So satan tries to inject his distractions into our minds to take our thoughts off the Lord.

ďSo then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.Ē Our minds may desire the things of God, to stay before the Lord, but our spirit has to war against the will of our flesh. As a person once said, ďitís like 2 big dogs living inside of us and fighting for dominance, a black dog and a white dog, and the one thatís winning at any given time is the dog we feed, whether the black dog of the flesh and sin or the white dog of our spirit that longs to be with JesusĒ.

Solomon knew this all to well, and he said, Prov.14"
[14] The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
The dog that is winning is the one you feed, backslider or good man.

God gives us His WORD to build us up, that He might sanctify and cleanse us with the washing of water by the WORD, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, us the body of Christ. That weíre not conformed to this world: but being transformed by the renewing of your minds by His WORD.

Acts 20:
[32] And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord for His love mercy and undeserved grace.

Righteous judgement is our receiving the things we deserve, Godís mercy is Jesus who took our punishment upon Himself for us so we DONíT receive those things we do deserve.

Grace is Godís method of giving us the good and wonderful things we DONíT deserve.

The mind, the dog you feed is the one who grows strong in us.

Ponder our thoughts, we need to examine ourselves and see what weíre treasuring, cause our thoughts will be on our treasure, and what we treasure is where our hearts is.

Hello Rick ... Enjoyed Reading Your Post !

Feelings, thoughts ... and then ... the call.

As a young Christian, I wondered ... how to go about living the life of a Christian.

As the Good Lord works within us ... as we all have different kinds of feelings and thoughts going through our mind ... it simply boils down to ... the call.

I had such a peace ... wonderful peace ... knowing that no matter what struggles we go through in life ... just wait and trust the Lord for the call.

Once we know the call ... the Lord will help us to follow it.

Well ... that's what came to my mind after I read your post. :cloud9:

We must choose to renew our minds and stay focused on His Word if we want to overcome. We decide what thoughts to 'take' and which to dismiss...
or...we float along being tossed to and fro
