The mind of man is the battle ground between man and satan. The three dominant Spirits are the Spirit of God, the spirit of satan and the spirit of man, and the mind is the place where man plans and envisions the direction of his life. Control of the mind is what the devil is fighting for, to keep the minds of people on the things of this life, temporal things, and things that bring temporary pleasure to the flesh and not on heavenly things, which is usually contrary to what the will of the flesh desires. Every day satan fights in his tireless efforts to distract, interrupt and deceive people away from God and the power of God in a personís life. God has provided man with the tools for this fight, but man has the final decision, to take hold of the things God has offered him.

Satan doesnít just fight every day, he doesnít fight every hour, he doesnít fight every minute, he fights every second, every split second to keep the minds of people AWAY FROM THE LORD.

Why is it so important for the devil to remove a person's thoughts from God? Truth be told the devil is afraid of you, heís afraid youíll turn unto the Lord and realize the power of God that He has for a person. A person that has learned to fight, to take control of their thoughts, to focus on God and His word is a person that will realize more and more the need for God in their lives as they draw closer to God. They realize the strength and power God has for them, and they are transformed by the renewing of their minds through Godís Word and His presence in their lives by increased prayers with their minds focused on God.

Paul said:
2 Cor. 10 [4]: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
[5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

When your mind is on the Lord the devil will try to bring thoughts into your mind to interrupt and distract your attention off the Lord. Exalting and thrusting his distractions and imaginations in your mind so your focus is stolen away from the Lord.

Paul was a man of prayer and look what the Lord did with him. I may not be a Paul, but by seeking the Lord in prayer and reading His Word, I start to draw closer to the Lord, growing in Him and the victory in my life He has for me.

Itís a fight, but itís the good fight of faith, itís a fight that anyone can take up. Itís how we grow in grace, in faith and in the power of the Lord, and when fought we grow stronger in many ways and draw closer to the Lord.

1 Tim.6 [12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

A really great post. I often think about this and have been thinking "a lot" on this very topic lately.

We truly have such limited time upon this earth and we need to put "Him" first always no matter what is thrown our way in life or by satan.

Thanks for your post.

Blessings wished!
