No. 0     Original Topic: Sabbath Day versus sabbath days

What I wrote here was wrong, so I deleted it.

Still learning.

However, I do not apologize for saying: believers in Jesus Christ do NOT have to keep the sabbath day(s) in order to be saved, for we are not saved if we keep ANY part of the law, but we are saved ONLY by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit is GIVEN TO THOSE WHO OBEY HIM! Act 5:32

No OBEDIENCE? NO 'HOLY' SPIRIT! Gen. 3:22
[22] And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to [know good and evil: satans evil!]

Whose inspiration is this! No guess work needed!

1) God's salvation plan finished before the foundation of the world
2) The Bible centers on Christ Jesus, who gives us rest
3) Look for 'types' in the Old that are fulfilled in the New Testament
4) Salvation by grace is only through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works of the law contained in ordinances
5) Rightly divide the word of truth
6) You are saved if you continue in the faith.
7) But Salvation is not a process. If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you are saved now, but the Sabbath Day rest is yet to come, for those of us who are still in the flesh. Patiently hope until the end.
Keep the Sabbath Day holy by abiding in Christ Jesus, and he shall give you rest.

You are deciding against the Holy Spirit saying in 1 John 2:3-6! And note the one Word that stands out there in CLEAR terms of [[LIAR!]]

And Christ Words to the 'TEMPTING' attorney! Matt. 22:35-38
[35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, [[tempting him,]] and saying,
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
[37] Jesus said unto him, [[Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.]]
[38] This is the [[first and great commandment.]]

Elijah674,

Obeying the gospel is the same as BELIEVING on the Lord Jesus Christ. And, it is the gospel we are to obey. The Holy Spirit is given to those who BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ.

"(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)" - John 7:39

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," - Ephesians 1:13

Acts 19:
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve.

Obeying the gospel is all that is needed for salvation, and to receive the Holy Ghost.

Salvation is simple

It's as simple as calling on the Lord
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

It's as simple as coming when called
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28

It's as simple as entering a door
"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." - John 10:9

It's as simple as receiving a gift
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23

It's as simple as believing God
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." - John 6:47

"Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." - John 6:28-29

Not obeying the gospel (believing on Jesus Christ) is the unpardonable sin.

Mark 6:11
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Those who have "good" works without believing on Jesus Christ will be as the five virgins who had no oil in their lamps.

"But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?" - Romans 10:16

"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:" -
2 Thessalonians 1:8

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" - 1 Peter 4:17
