No. 0     Original Topic:  The Last Ship (TV series)

A doomsday adventure, worldwide contagion, the US reduced to a caretaker government and people dying all over the place. What's left of the world has one hope, the USS Nathan James destroyer and the scientist aboard her desperately searching out a cure and vaccine. Somewhat reminiscent of the original VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA movie.

This dramatic adventure series is surprisingly addictive. The actors do an outstanding job and that combined with the very believable script keeps you glued to each adventure, each week.

A second season is scheduled to begin June, 2015. I can hardly wait.

Storm-rating - of 5
(I'm in the middle of my second go-around with Season One.)

I enjoy such programming when I have the time for it, but more often than not have found myself very disappointed in anything by Michael Bay, whether it be a TV series or a movie.

Sounds great and interesting.
Definately on my watchable list.
Thanks.

Having a little free time last evening I did watch the pilot of "The Last Ship". It is interesting. But I could not get away from it being a theme that is getting old and predictable having already been over played via many recent movies and TV series.

Most often these days when I see a trailer or read a review akin to a world crisis due to a virus and/or "walking dead", I pass. I do take the time to catch up on "The Walking Dead" when a new season is available to stream for free.

But I am interested enough to catch at least a couple more episodes of "The Last Ship".

Years after it began, I began to watch the first 3 episodes of "The Walking Dead." At first it was ok, but I was turned off by the blatant marital infidelity and lost interest.

"The Last Ship" may have some elements of other sci-fi productions, but it is different enough to hold my interest. There is a great element of creative writing in it, IMHO, which brings me back for each new episode. Currently, it is only one of two TV series I bother to watch (the other being PERSON OF INTEREST, which I think is even better, and in fact, excellent).
