The Drop Box is a documentary film about a pastor in South Korea that accepts babies left off at his door in a box. It is an excellent movie but take at least 5 tissues! It is excellent because it appeals to both; the emotions and reason. It deals with differing points of view in the controversy of maybe this drop box encourages people to be irresponsible and abandon children. A good documentary attempts to be at least partially objective. It also is very emotional as we see the desperate need and the heart of God revealed in this man. The pastor's own child was born with very severe problems and could easily have been discarded or rejected. When the pastor and wife learned to take care of their child they saw the need to help others and this opened the door for more and more.

There was a very negative aspect of this film. The money support was from Focus On The Family organization, and they used the film for evangelism that seemed out of place. People payed full price to see the movie. The film itself did the proper evangelism but after the documentary we had to sit through a long presentation. Half the audience walked out. It was very upsetting to see what could have been a great Christian film turn into a mess. If there are versions online without the extra presentation try to see that. I would not take my non-christian friends to it.
