No. 0     Original Topic:  Trying to post photos in profile
By:  kc2626   Gender: F   Age: 61   on  Feb 12, 2013 at 1:22 PM   Viewed 25192 times
When I select photos from my computer to add to my Profile, I get the following message: Selected file type is not allowed.

These photos work on any other site. Can someone tell me how to adjust the photos so they would be in an acceptable format?

Thank you

Why are my pix not allowed? Are my pixels to large? Is it because they come from my I-photo in macbook? I can send them from my Canon software, i think. I don't think i'll get much response w/o photos.

I admire your picture of the little airplane, if that counts as a response.

I believe the issue may relate to how the letters are typed or pasted. Try using jpg rather than JPG. Normal letters, yes; capital letters, no. This showed up after installing the new photo upload mechanism last Fall. We will try to get the code modified to account for the variation when an opportunity opens up.

How do you delete a photo you no longer want in your profile?

copied from the photo management screen:

CLICK HERE TO UPLOAD A NEW IMAGE

Make sure to change any JPG endings to jpg until our programming is modified to accommodate all-caps.

Simply right-click on the photo, then choose rename. Be careful to un-highlight the other text before typing, lest the whole string disappear. Edit Apr 6, 2013.

Okay, so I "click here"

receive the "browse" line & choose a photo from my computer.

Then what?

No photo shows up to right click on. Just my current photo already loaded.

Okaaaaay....so a techie nerd asked me "so whatchya using for a browser?" *sigh*

twas that simple for me! Use Internet Explorer vs Mozilla Firefox!

If others are still having the same problem, perhaps a different browswer...

I can't post my photos now. It's frustrating. I want to post up to date photos. I could like to contact the site and give them the photos I want to upload. It maybe corrupted.
